Custom-made bearing lined with alumina ceramic ring

2020-03-16

As the "joints" of industrial equipment, bearings rely heavily on the performance of their lining components, which directly determines the operational stability, service life and efficiency of the equipment. Traditional bearing linings are mostly made of metal materials. In high-end industrial scenarios such as mining, chemical engineering, electric power and semiconductors, they are challenged by high-speed friction, corrosive medium erosion and high-temperature environments. Frequent replacement of linings not only increases enterprises’ operation and maintenance costs, but may also disrupt production continuity. As a high-performance inorganic non-metallic material, alumina ceramics have become an ideal alternative material for bearing linings due to their excellent physical and chemical properties.

The custom-made alumina ceramic ring for bearing liners newly launched this time is manufactured using α-alumina micropowder with a purity of ≥99% as the main raw material, supplemented by a small amount of sintering additives. It is produced through a series of advanced processes including isostatic pressing, high-temperature sintering at above 1650℃, and precision diamond grinding.

The product features a density of over 99%, a Rockwell hardness of ≥80, and wear resistance 266 times that of manganese steel and 171.5 times that of high-chromium cast iron. It can operate stably for a long time at temperatures below 1500℃, while exhibiting excellent acid and alkali corrosion resistance and outstanding electrical insulation, making it suitable for various extreme working conditions.

Unlike conventional standardized products, this customized service breaks through specification limitations. Based on customers’ drawings and application requirements, we can flexibly produce various ceramic rings with outer diameters ranging from Φ50–300 mm and inner diameters from Φ20–250 mm. These cover designs of different wall thicknesses, heights and surface structures, enabling precise matching for high-precision insulating liners for semiconductor equipment, impact-resistant and wear-resistant liners for mining machinery, as well as corrosion-resistant liners for chemical equipment.

In addition, supported by automated production kilns, regular custom orders can be delivered within 15–30 days, with stable lead times for bulk orders, effectively meeting enterprises’ urgent production needs.

At present, this customized product has been successfully applied in various fields such as mining machinery, chemical equipment, power equipment and semiconductor equipment. Practical data shows that after adopting this ceramic ring lining, the service life of equipment bearings can be extended by 3 to 8 times, and the annual equipment maintenance cost can be reduced by more than 70%, effectively helping enterprises reduce costs and improve efficiency. Taking mining sand mills as an example, after the customized alumina ceramic ring is used for the grinding chamber lining, the continuous operation time of the equipment is extended from several months to several years, greatly reducing the frequency of shutdown and maintenance.
