What Is Alumina Ceramics?

Alumina ceramic, also known as alumina or aluminum oxide (Al2O3), is an industrial oxide ceramic known for its extreme hardness and high thermal conductivity. The properties of alumina ceramics make them one of the most widely used ceramics for structural, wear, and corrosive environments. Alumina ceramics are typically manufactured from bauxite and can be shaped using injection molding, die pressing, isostatic pressing, slip casting, diamond machining, and extrusion. Like aluminum nitride and other important engineering materials, alumina can be produced by dry press and sinter or by hot pressing using appropriate sintering aids. Alumina-based ceramics are one of the most studied and characterized advanced ceramic materials known today. Due to the important combination of properties, their behavior has been thoroughly researched. Alumina is characterized by high hardness, excellent resistance to corrosion, thermal stability, good dielectric properties (for converting from DC to GHz frequencies), low loss tangent, and stiffness.   • Slip casting moulding: Inject the prepared slurry into the gypsum mold and let it stand for a period of time to allow the gypsum mold to absorb moisture. The slurry forms a uniform body on the inner wall of the mold.

  • Isostatic pressing: During the isostatic pressing procedure, binders are blended with the ceramic powder. As a result of this process, the powder transforms into freely flowing granules that can effortlessly fill the molds.
  • Extrusion moulding: Suitable for long tube products, the powder is extruded into shape through an extruder.

We only make high purity alumina ceramics

1. High-purity alumina content 99.3% -99.5%, other alumina ceramics 92% -99%.

2. The color of high purity alumina product is milky white, and other products are pink or white. The higher the purity, the more transparent the color.

3. Alumina is a refractory material, the higher the purity, the better the refractory effect.

4. After high-purity alumina ceramics are fired and cooled in a 1800-degree high-temperature kiln, the products are not easy to break when they encounter high temperatures. Other ceramics are fired at 1500 ℃ ~ 1800 ℃.

5. The volume density of high-purity alumina> 3.92 g / cm3 has a smooth surface and is not easily corroded by chemicals. The bulk density of other ceramics is> 3.70 g / cm3 ~> 3.85 g / cm3.
