The forming methods of alumina ceramic tubes include dry stamping, slurry injection, stamping, cold isostatic pressing, hot pressing, and many other methods. Alumina ceramic tubes require different forming methods according to different shapes, sizes, complex shapes and precision.

Grouting method: This is the first forming technology of alumina ceramic tubes, which is suitable for relatively cheap, complex shapes and large-sized workpieces. The alumina slurry of this molding method usually uses water as a medium to add a binder and a deflocculant, is ground and exhausted, and then introduced into the plaster mold. For the hollow slurry, when the mold wall absorbs the slurry of sufficient thickness, it is necessary to discharge the excess slurry to reduce the shrinkage of the blank, so choose the slurry with the highest concentration possible.

Dry pressing method: The forming technology has a simple shape and is limited to workpieces with an internal thickness of more than 1mm and a diameter and length of less than 4:1. There are two types of methods: uniaxial and biaxial. Presses are divided into mechanical chamber presses and hydraulic presses. There are fully automatic and semi-automatic forming methods. The pressure of the press is 200MPA, and it can produce about 15-50 workpieces per minute. The stroke pressure distribution of the hydraulic press is averaged, so when there is a difference in powder filling, the height of the pressure workpiece will be different. In contrast to mechanical presses, how much pressure will be applied according to the amount of powder filled? This shrinks in size after sintering, which easily affects product quality. Therefore, the uneven powder distribution during the dry stamping process is particularly important for filling and has a great influence on the precise control of the size of thealumina ceramic tube manufactured.
